Los Angeles Minimum Wage
Effective July 1, 2025
$17.87 per hour
All employers must pay the new minimum wage per LAMC Section 187.02, adjusted annually.
Employers are also subject to all local, state, and federal labor laws.
The Office of Wage Standards may:
Investigate violations
Inspect workplaces
Interview employees
Review payroll records
Violations include:
Not paying minimum wage
Failure to post notices or keep payroll records
Retaliation
Paid Sick Leave (Effective July 1, 2017)
Applies to employees who work 2+ hours/week in LA for 30+ days/year.
Employee Protections
LAMC Sections 188.04 & 187.06 prohibit retaliation or discrimination.
