Notice to Employees
Effective September 30, 2024 through September 29, 2025
Minimum wage: $13.00/hour
Tipped employees: $9.98/hour (plus tips)
(Effective through September 29, 2025)
Florida voters approved a constitutional amendment on November 3, 2020, to raise the state minimum wage by $1.00 each year until it reaches $15.00/hour on September 30, 2026.
Beginning in 2027, the minimum wage will adjust annually for inflation.
Employee Rights under the Florida Constitution:
File complaints regarding noncompliance
Share information about violations
Assist others in asserting their rights
Legal Enforcement
If unpaid after notifying the employer and waiting 15 days, employees may file a civil suit to recover:
Back wages
Damages
Attorney’s fees
Employers who intentionally violate the law may be fined $1,000 per violation.
