Workers’ Compensation Ombudsman Program – Employee Notice
If you’ve been injured on the job, you have the right to free help through the Office of Injured Employee Counsel (OIEC). This Texas state agency supports injured employees who do not have legal representation in the workers’ compensation system.
You can reach OIEC at 1-866-393-6432 or visit www.oiec.texas.gov to learn more.
What Is the Ombudsman Program?
The Ombudsman Program provides trained advocates who can:
Help you identify and resolve issues with your employer’s workers’ compensation insurance.
Assist with filing for dispute resolution (Benefit Review Conferences or Contested Case Hearings).
Attend hearings with you, communicate on your behalf, and help with appeals if needed.
Ombudsman assistance is free of charge and designed to support you throughout the dispute process.
